South East London Weightlifting Club is British Weightlifting affiliated club, designed for lifters of all levels. Whether you’re stepping onto a platform for the first time or training for competition, we provide expert coaching, structured programming and a supportive community to help you grow.
As part of an established strength and fitness network in South East London, we’re here to make weightlifting more accessible, enjoyable and rewarding.

COACHING & TRAINING
Our experienced coaches are here to help you refine your technique, build strength and improve performance. With structured programming and individualised guidance, we ensure that every lifter gets the support they need - whether you're chasing personal bests or mastering the fundamentals.
BEGINNER-FRIENDLY PATHWAY
New to weightlifting? Our classes cover the basics of the snatch and clean & jerk, with a focus on proper form, safety and confidence under the bar. You'll develop a strong foundation in Olympic lifting while training alongside a welcoming and supportive community.
COMPETITIVE PATHWAY
For those looking to take their training to the next level, we offer coaching tailored to competition prep. Whether you're aiming for your first local competition or working towards an English or British championship qualification total, our structured approach will help you perform at your best on the platform.
OPEN GYM ACCESS
We provide dedicated weightlifting platforms, high-quality Eleiko equipment and everything you need for focused, effective training. Members can use open gym sessions to follow their programming, refine their technique or just enjoy lifting alongside a like-minded community.

Meet Owner & Head Coach - Nicola Stiddard
Nicola Stiddard leads South East London Weightlifting Club with a wealth of experience in Olympic Weightlifting, both as a coach and an athlete. A Level 2 British Weightlifting Coach, she is dedicated to helping lifters develop technical proficiency, build strength and achieve their goals.
Nicola trained for three years with Team England and was selected for to represent England at the Commonwealth Championships in 2022. She continues to train and compete at a high level, bringing firsthand experience of the demands of the sport to her coaching. Her approach is built on structured programming attention to detail, and a commitment to creating a supportive training environment.
Classes & Timetable
WEIGHTLIFTING CLASSES
All of our weightlifting classes are 60 minutes long, focusing on technical development, strength progression and lifting efficiency.
Each session includes a structured warm-up, targeted drills and dedicated time to refine your olympic lifts under the guidance of our experienced coaches.
Monday: 7AM, 6.30PM
Tuesday: 6AM, 7.30PM
Wednesday: 12PM
Thursday: 7AM, 5.30PM
Friday: 6.30PM
Sunday: 11.30AM
WEIGHTLIFTING OPEN GYM
In addition to our regular open gym slots, our weightlifting membership gives you unlimited access to our weightlifting platforms while other classes take place on the gym floor.
Monday: 6AM-7AM, 8AM-10AM, 12PM-2PM, 5:30PM-6.30PM, 7.30PM-8.30PM
Tuesday: 7AM-9AM, 12PM-2PM, 5.30PM-7.30PM
Wednesday: 6AM-10AM, 1PM-2PM, 5.30PM-8.30PM
Thursday: 6AM-7AM, 8AM-10AM, 12PM-2PM, 6.30PM-8.30PM
Friday: 6AM-10AM, 12PM-2PM, 5.30PM-6.30PM
Saturday: 8AM-10AM, 11:30AM-12PM

All of our membership options include access to weightlifting classes, but if Olympic weightlifting is your main focus, our dedicated weightlifting membership is the perfect choice.

- Unlimited Weightlifting classes at CrossFit Sydenham
- Small group coaching (max 8 lifters per class)
- Weightlifting Open Gym – access to platforms during other classes
- Regular Open Gym access for independent training
